Burton Hockey ladies 2s had their first friendly back after the Christmas break, welcoming the injury bench back onto the field after a long break. 

Both teams started the game strong, both looking eagar to get on front foot. As Burton began to settle into the game, they maintained possession on the pitch, transferring the ball around the defence. Throughout the first half, Burton continued to challenge Lichfield's defence with some clever balls and with challenging runs being made. The hard work played off when Jane Palmer slotted the ball home, finishing the first half 1-0.

The second half, Burton came out determined to score another goal. Susie Spruce opened the scoreing in the second half, burying the ball into the corner. Burton continued to give their all, working together in Lichfield's half to find another goal. Amy Palmer found herself free in the D, putting the ball into the net of the the goal. The last 5 minutes, Lichfield continued to battle and try to score, but were well defended by Burton. Final score 3-0. Goals scorers Palmer and Spruce were both returning from injuries .
