Following a stunning comeback the previous week from the Jaws of defeat against Buxton 1st team the team was in a buoyant mood. On arrival in Wolverhampton they were met by a cold but sunny scene which had successfully defrosted the pitch. Burton piled on the pressure from the start, with a high press which resulted in panic amongst the Wolverhampton ranks. Toby Ganley chasing the teams league top goal scorer and Tom Gibbs linked very well. Captain Ben Meir, Simon Saccaggi and Harry Clarke were controlling the middle and Tim Glover, Stephen Goodfellow and Kieran Whetton provided stability in defence. They were easily taking the ball off of Wolves and passing around the back with effortless poise. It wasn't long before the pressure told and Ike Zieliński-Raynor put away 2 stunning efforts. Rob Pilgrim popped up with a 'hammer' from open play and was also key in winning a flick which was clinically dispatched by the evergreen Kevin Stanyon. Harrison Kemp also belted home to put Burton 5-0 up at half time. Their home squad of 16 were shocked and stunned, and Burton were on fire! Wolverhampton changed tactics in the second half and parked the proverbial bus and did score in the 2nd half but the job was well and truly done by then as Burton won 5 1. Man of the match with 2 stunning goals was Zieliński-Raynor. Next week they will want to keep this fine run going against second in the league Shrewsbury.
