After 6 years of coaching the Men’s senior section Kevin Heath has decided to step down, he feels the time is right for a change and for a new coach to take the senior Club forward. During this time Kev has transformed our approach to training and taken the 1st XI up to the top flight in the Midlands as well as seeing many of our younger players achieve a great deal and the Club would like to thank him for his efforts. The good news is that Kev is not leaving Burton HC all together and he will continue to focus on youth development through his involvement with the Academy.
This obviously leaves a vacancy on the coaching team and we are pleased to announce that Richard Chambers has been appointed as the new Men’s Senior Coach. Richard comes with an impressive CV, a National League hockey pedigree as a player with Cannock HC and Leek HC and as a coach. His coaching posts include Brooklands HC and Sutton Coldfield HC and he has also recently been coaching Wales U18s. Richard joins the club with a great deal to offer, many new ideas and high expectations.
On the ladies side of the club Jamie Cooper will continue as the Ladies Senior Coach, Richard Chambers will also be supporting at some ladies sessions.
With the Ellis astro now in place the Club is able to offer more opportunities to train and now all in one location! The provisional schedule is as follows, based on feedback from the recent survey there are no changes to days and times but there are some additional sessions and we will continue to review this through the season.
Fitness training will commence on the 2nd of August on the Ellis 7:00 – 8:30.
(This is earlier than in the past since we can now offer this on our own pitch!).
Full club training will commence WC 29th August as follows :-
Tuesday 18:30 – 20:00 General Men’s Training
Tuesday 20:00 – 21:30 Advanced Men’s Training
Wednesday 18:30 – 20:00 General Ladies Training
Wednesday 20:00 – 21:30 Advanced Ladies Training
Thursday 18:30 – 19:30 U14 boys training (girls TBA)
Thursday 19:30 – 21:00 Men’s Advanced & Ladies Advanced Training
